About Hillside Plastics, Inc.

Started in 1967, Hillside was purchased a few years later by Richard and Janet Haas. Initially operating out of a rented horse barn in Sunderland, MA, Hillside moved to its newly constructed Turners Falls, MA facility in 1993, and has since enjoyed steady growth.

The company is now in the second generation of ownership by the Haas family. Peter Haas, President, began working summers at the business over thirty years ago, and advanced through a number of key positions as the company grew. Peter’s sister, Kate Colby, Vice President of Finance, has also been an integral part of the company’s growth, filling various roles over the last twenty years.

In 1980, Hillside developed the proprietary Sugarhill® line of Maple Syrup containers. The product’s distinctive shape, attractive colors, and optional XL Coating are recognized as the standard throughout the Maple industry today.

Hillside prides itself on excellent customer service, with a sharp focus on quality, flexibility, efficiency, and continuous improvements. The company is well positioned for continued growth, meeting the specific needs of customers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
